Sunday Musings 04092023

Happy Easter and Happy Sunday!

I’m coming off of a week of being sick. I don’t know about you – but when I’m in the thick being sick, I don’t remember what it’s like to be well. I’m a cold-medicine high – I wonder if I’ll ever be able to breathe out my nose again. But slowly the congestion clears and life moves forward.

While cold medicine is a must (a variety that includes Sudafed, Mucinex, and DayQuil/NightQuil), my other must is a little off script. Yes – chicken noodle soup is great, but nothing compares to McDonald’s chicken nuggets, French fries, and orange Hi-C. It’s a guaranteed cure. I think germs can’t survive on the grease and salt. Anytime I’m sick, it’s the only thing I want. Fortunately my husband knows this and will always make a trip to get me the nugs.

I’m also convinced that sprite and bubbly water help. The germs in the back of your throat can’t survive the carbonation. I don’t think that’s true – or medically proven, but it makes me feel better.

The last few things to cure a cold are more obvious: comfortable clothes, blankets, Netflix, and my favorite teddy bear. My favorite movie to watch when sick (and anytime really) is You’ve Got Mail. There’s something about it that has always made me feel better. Maybe it’s the scene where Kathleen (Meg Ryan) is sick and Joe (Tom Hanks) comes to check on her and brings her daisies.

Anyways, I’m feeling a little better now. Still a little fuzzy, sneezy, and congested – but overall we’re doing much better.

Alright my darlings, I hope you’ll find my “cures” helpful the next time you find yourself under the weather.

Xo love kim
