Happy Sunday, Friends!
I hope your Sunday is treating you kindly. We spent our weekend with friends, and it was lovely.
My favorite thing is when family turns into friendship. If you’ve followed along, you may know that I come from a fairly large family. We aren’t close, and unfortunately my decision to have a small wedding put a riff in the very fragile dynamic that already existed. If I had to make a metaphor, I’d say it’s similar to Jenga. The balance was already off and someone (me) pulled a piece from the bottom – toppling an already fragile tower. Instead of building our foundation – we were built on a little platform.
Anyways, that’s why I find my friendship with my nephew and niece-in-law so precious. You may remember my niece from Disney trips and our etiquette reel. She’s amazing and I’m lucky to know her.
They moved about an hour away and live on a farmland with chickens. It was such a nice change of pace from the suburbs. My heart is full.
I am going to take this feeling into the week. My friends – this is my takeaway: find the people who are and have always been in your corner and embrace them tightly. They’re precious.
Here are some pictures from the weekend:
I hope you have a beautiful week.
