Galentine’s Day is right around the corner and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than homemade soap. If you’re throwing a Galentine’s Day brunch, this soap would make an amazing party favor.
Need a refresher on making soap? This tutorial will help you!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Melt and pour soap (both opaque and clear – I recommend goat’s milk and olive oil, respectfully)
- Soap dye (I used gold, yellow, and bronze)
- Soap scent (I used vanilla and nutmeg)
- Waffle shaped and regular soap mold (I found my silicone mold on Amazon
Steps to Complete
Make the waffle first. You’ll use the opaque soap and melt about half of the block. Do 30-second bursts in the microwave and throughly melt. Add your dye and scent. Pour into the mold.
While that’s cooling, let’s make the butter. You’ll use 2-3 squares of the opaque soap. Once melted, add the scent and yellow color. Pour a thin layer in the traditional soap mold.
Allow both the waffle and butter to completely solidify – about an hour.
Once hard, remove from the molds. Cut the butter into four equal pieces.
To attach the butter, melt the clear soap (about three squares) and add the yellow color and scent. Dip the butter into the clear melted soap and secure to the waffle. Drizzle the rest of the clear yellow soap over the top to resemble melted butter.
To make the syrup, melt more clear soap and add the bronze color and scent. Play around with the coloring to get it right. Drizzle over to replicate syrup.
Allow to cool and it’s ready to gift! Here’s a video tutorial!
Happy Galentine’s Day!
