
I love horror movies, especially the iconic classics. Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street, they’re all amazing. To celebrate the genre and Halloween, I made a horror movie icon banner to decorate our mantel.

I made this project with my Cricut, but if you don’t have one – don’t fret. Keep scrolling for the non-Cricut instructions to make your very own.
Cricut
Here’s what you will need:
- Black and white card stock
- Banner shape
- Glue
- String, yarn, or ribbon
Here are the steps:
- Go online and find black and white images of the horror icons
- Load into the design space and edit your cut lines
- Cut the banner shape
- Glue the weeded icons onto the banner
- Punch 2 holes into each banner
- String together with string, ribbon, or yarn
Non-Cricut Instructions
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Printer
- White card stock cut into banner shape (I found online)
- Yarn, string, ribbon
- Hole punch
- Glue
- Pencil and markers
Instructions:
- Find black and white images of your favorite icons online and print
- Glue onto banner shape
- Punch holes and string together
OR
- Find black and white images of your icons and print
- Color the back of the icon picture with the pencil
- Place the print on the banner shape, pencil side down
- Trace the picture
- Remove and color in the pencil markings with markers
- Punch holes and string together
That’s it – it’s a very easy craft to make. It took the length of an old school horror movie! This DIY is a great conversation piece and decoration. Your family and friends will definitely want you to make one!
