If you’ve been keeping up with this old house, you know we’ve been very busy with remodels and repairs. Since we’ve moved in, it’s been a non-stop whirlwind. Long story short: home ownership is not for everyone.
The List

If you can’t read my chicken-scratch, we’ve bought new furniture and painted almost every room of the house. We still need to decorate and figure out lighting – but we’re getting there.
It seems that with every new project, we find a new one (usually by accident). For instance: we thought we had two functioning bathrooms – and that is not the case. Our basement bathroom is, for lack of a better term, a no-dumping zone.
We’ve been in the house for 2 months, and we’ve accomplished a lot.
Reveal
We got some flack on painting, but the previous owners touched up a matte with high gloss, big no! Check out some painting tips here!
Check out some pictures (including a few before/after):
Outside
The landscaping is gorgeous, but overgrown. This fall we will be breaking up some of the bulbs – it’s smothering itself.

Sunroom
This is absolutely (100%) my favorite room in the house. It was painted a tomato soup red, and we covered it with a beautiful light grey. Check out the before and after:

Living Room
The living room was a nice tan, but we went with a light blue. Okay, confession – it would supposed to be a dark-blue-grey, but it turned light blue. It works with our new furniture, so we’re happy.
This is a picture of the furniture and wall color. The furniture is all the Stockholm collection from Ikea.

The Kitchen
The kitchen is the biggest transformation – from top to bottom. We’re so happy with how it turned out and once we get our pantry – it will be perfect.
Check out this before and after:

The wall colors definitely made the kitchen dark (almost unusable).

This Old House
We love our new home and I can’t wait to share more updates on the renovation with you. Back to more projects!
Happy homes!
